Kicking back in Palamos

Team Sebo parked up at a delightful commercial aire , EmpordArea, at Palamos, Costa Brava, last Thursday afternoon and hasn’t turned a wheel since! Sebo is having a well-earned rest and his team are doing very little other than relaxing, walking, eating and drinking. This place is perfect – a halfway house between a full-on campsite and a council run aire- it’s in a perfect location! In behind a quiet residential area, just 15 minutes walk from THE most perfect sandy beach which stretches for several kilometers, a 5 minute walk from a well-stocked supermarket, 10 minutes walk from the town of Palamos ( and a handily placed Lidl – most important!), it couldn’t be better located! It has decent size motorhome pitches, a covered service area, toilets, showers, washing machine and….wait for it….a superfast free WiFi connection!! We are in Motorhome Heaven! Having checked-in and paid for the one night (€12.00), we settled ourselves in amongst the other fifteen or so vans already here. A range of nationalities are here – French, Belgian, English, Irish, Italian, lots of Dutch and we STILL have brought the average age down by a good few years!

As soon as Roy realised the potential of the superfast WiFi connection here, and with his newly downloaded FilmOnTV App, the potential ability to watch the Final Grand Prix of 2016 without having to find a bar in which to do so, “helped” in our decision to stay here until Monday morning! What harm? There’s plenty of walking to do, the site is well worth the daily fee ( more so since Black Friday meant they kindly only charged €6 for Friday night!) and the weather is pretty darn good! Hallelujah!

Tomorrow, we’ll drag ourselves away from here and crawl the 66 kms down the coast to Calella. Ultimately, we’re kinda planning to be on the Costa Blanca, somewhere around Alicante in time for Christmas.
